A WEB CONTROLLER FOR THE
NEEWER DL SERIES

I was disappointed with Neewer's app support for the DL200 camera dolly, so I reverse engineered the Bluetooth communication and made a quick webapp to control it, along with some extra features.

Neewer DL-200 Bluetooth Control Version 1.1
Connection

connect disconnect emergency stop

The speed will rapidly change from 5 to 1 to show connection is successful.

Main Movements

go left go right stop momentary

Arrow keys or numpad to move, space to stop

Speed and Acceleration Settings

speed 1 speed 2 speed 3 speed 4 speed 5

slow acceleration constant acceleration

Special Functions

Ping Pong

Move the dolly back and forth. 'End sequence' gracefully finishes the remaining movement. A 'Stop' command will end the movement early.

left then right repeatedly right then left repeatedly end sequence

[Travel for ms] [Stop for ms]

Super slowmode

Uses the slow acceleration setting and a repeated on/off with delay to achieve a very slow movement.

super slow left super slow right stop superslow

[Delay factor ms]

Comma to go left, period to go right, space to stop.

Fixed duration movements

Timed movements, also suitable for micromovements. The smallest movement is not terribly accurate and occasionally the little dude will just keep on going, so caution. The minimum is roughly equal to 0.4mm.

fixed duration left fixed duration right [ In motion for ms ]

Minus and plus keys trigger fixed duration movements.

Tests

Attempt to move the device for one second in effort to compare the distance travelled at speed 1 vs super slow speed.
